These Terms of Service apply to purchases made through Oceano and to your use of this website.

By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy, Return and Refund Policy and Shipping Policy.

These Terms do not limit any mandatory consumer rights you may have under applicable law.

1. The website and store

Oceano offers books, prints, artworks, digital editions and related products through this website.

The website is hosted by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell products to you.

Any purchase made through this store is made directly between you and Oceano.

2. Product information

We do our best to describe and display products accurately.

However, colours, contrast, paper texture, scale and product appearance may vary depending on screen settings, device type, lighting and production method.

For prints and artworks, small differences may occur between editions, paper types, print runs or production partners. These differences are normal and do not necessarily mean that the product is defective.

3. Prints and artworks

Most prints and artworks are produced to order.

Standard prints offered through the webshop are covered by the normal right of withdrawal, as described in our Return and Refund Policy.

Custom-made or clearly personalised prints and artworks may not be cancelled or returned once production has begun, unless they are defective or incorrect. This includes, for example, custom sizes, custom cropping, commissioned work, personal dedications or other individual specifications requested by the customer.

All images, artworks, texts, books, designs and other creative material remain the intellectual property of Oceano or the relevant rights holder.

Buying a physical or digital product does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights.

4. Books

Books may be sold as standard editions, signed editions or personally dedicated editions.

A standard artist signature does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights.

Personally dedicated books or books otherwise personalised at the customer’s request may not be returned unless they are defective or incorrect, as described in our Return and Refund Policy.

Some books may be shipped in protective shrink wrap. Removing or breaking the shrink wrap does not in itself remove your statutory right of withdrawal, but the book must be returned without damage or deterioration beyond what is necessary to inspect it.

5. Digital products

Digital products may include e-books, digital editions, downloadable files or similar content.

Digital products are for personal use only, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

You may not copy, share, upload, resell, redistribute, publish or commercially exploit digital products.

Digital files may include visible or invisible watermarking, stamping, metadata or licence information, including order-related information, to document lawful purchase and prevent unauthorised distribution.

By purchasing a digital product, you may be asked to consent to immediate delivery and acknowledge that your right of withdrawal is lost once access or download begins.

6. Orders

When you place an order, you are making an offer to purchase the selected products.

An order is accepted when you receive an order confirmation or when we otherwise begin processing the order.

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order if:

• the product is unavailable
• there is an obvious pricing or product information error
• payment cannot be completed
• the order appears fraudulent or unlawful
• the order violates these Terms
• delivery to the selected destination is not possible

If we cancel an order after payment has been made, we will refund the amount paid.

Please check your order carefully before submitting it.

7. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout.

Prices include VAT where applicable, unless otherwise stated.

Shipping costs, delivery options, taxes, customs duties or import charges may be added or shown at checkout where relevant.

You are responsible for providing correct billing, payment and shipping information.

Payment is processed through third-party payment providers. We do not store full payment card details ourselves.

8. Shipping and delivery

Delivery times are estimates unless a specific delivery time has been expressly agreed.

If no specific delivery time has been agreed, orders will be delivered within the time required by applicable law.

We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect shipping information provided by the customer, failed delivery attempts, uncollected packages, customs processing, carrier disruption or events outside our reasonable control.

For consumer purchases, risk passes to you when the product has been delivered to you or to a person authorised by you to receive it.

If you choose a carrier or delivery method that is not offered by us, risk may pass to you when the product is handed over to that carrier.

9. Returns, refunds and withdrawal

Returns, refunds, withdrawal rights, damaged items and non-returnable items are handled according to our Return and Refund Policy.

For physical products purchased online, consumers normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal, subject to legal exceptions.

Certain products, including clearly personalised products and digital products delivered with your consent, may be excluded from the right of withdrawal where permitted by law.

10. Complaints and defective products

If a product is defective, damaged or incorrect, contact us at help@oceano.dk as soon as possible.

Please include your order number and clear photos of the product and packaging where relevant.

Consumers in Denmark have a statutory two-year right to complain about defects in goods. This cannot be shortened by these Terms.

11. Customer accounts

You may be able to create a customer account.

You are responsible for keeping your login information confidential and for all activity under your account.

You must provide accurate and up-to-date information.

We may suspend or close accounts that are used fraudulently, unlawfully or in violation of these Terms.

12. Intellectual property

All content on this website, including photographs, artworks, books, poems, text, design, layout, graphics, logos, product images and other material, is owned by Oceano or licensed to Oceano, unless otherwise stated.

You may not copy, reproduce, download, store, distribute, modify, publish, display, sell, license, scrape, train AI systems on, or otherwise exploit any website content without prior written permission.

You may use the website for personal, non-commercial browsing and purchasing only.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

13. Prohibited use

You may not use the website or services:

• for unlawful purposes
• to infringe intellectual property rights
• to interfere with website security or functionality
• to upload or transmit malicious code
• to scrape, extract or harvest content or data
• to impersonate another person or provide false information
• to attempt unauthorised access to systems or accounts
• to use automated tools, bots, crawlers or AI agents in a way that violates these Terms or our technical restrictions

We may restrict or block access if we reasonably believe the website is being misused.

14. Third-party services and links

The website may include links or integrations with third-party services, including Shopify, payment providers, shipping providers, analytics tools, newsletter providers or social media platforms.

We are not responsible for third-party websites, services, content or privacy practices.

Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and policies.

Our processing of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy.

By using the website or placing an order, you acknowledge that personal information may be processed by Oceano, Shopify and relevant service providers as necessary to provide the website, process orders, deliver products, handle payments, provide customer service and comply with legal obligations.

16. Errors and changes

We may correct errors, inaccuracies or omissions on the website, including errors relating to product descriptions, prices, availability, shipping information or promotions.

If an error affects an order you have placed, we will contact you where required and handle the matter in accordance with applicable law.

We may update, change or discontinue products, content or website features at any time.

17. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oceano is not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit, loss of business, loss of data or other consequential losses arising from use of the website or products purchased through the website.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including mandatory consumer rights, liability for defective products where applicable, or liability caused by intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

18. Force majeure

We are not responsible for failure or delay caused by events outside our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, war, strikes, labour disputes, transport disruption, customs delays, pandemics, power outages, internet disruption, supplier failure or governmental restrictions.

19. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Danish law.

Any dispute should first be attempted resolved by contacting us at help@oceano.dk

If a dispute cannot be resolved directly, consumers may have the right to complain through relevant consumer complaint bodies.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory rights you may have under the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our business, website, products, services or legal obligations.

The latest version will always be available on this website.

The version that applies to your order is the version in force at the time the order was placed.
