Wadden Sea
The Wadden Sea is where I grew up, and it is still the place I return to when I need space, calm and perspective.
Seen from above, the landscape becomes something else. Tidal channels turn into lines and fractures, sandbanks become textures, and familiar places lose their sense of scale.
I am less interested in documenting the landscape than in finding the forms hidden within it — the structures created and erased continuously by water, wind and time.
These works are a visual reading of the Wadden Sea. Scale dissolves, drawing attention to detail, structure and perspectives that are easy to miss from the ground.
Book & Exhibition
Wadden Sea is an ongoing project that I am developing towards both a book and an exhibition.
Two physical book dummies have already been produced as part of the editing and sequencing process. They are being used to explore scale, rhythm and the relationship between the individual photographs, while the project continues to evolve.
New images are still being added, and the final form of both the book and exhibition is gradually taking shape.
